Smile A vision that became a reality

Now that my car is almost complete, I thought I would do a detailed wrap up. Hopefully this will answer questions that so many of you have had. I have scrap booked the transformation of my car with pictures and sound clips. I am lucky enough to be in this business and have helped clients achieve their expectations, now it was my turn! The search took so long for this car, that I accumulated many of the upgrades in my office waiting for its arrival. There are many people that helped me complete my dream car, I will thank them as I go. The first two people are Hershel and Erik of Cargraphic, they played a HUGE role in this project. They helped and supported me with every phase. For giving me their knowledge, experience and an environment to make it all happen.
After 6 months of searching I found my white 996 cab in Portland, OR. It was found by one of our Cargraphic dealers. The Cab was being traded in for a 360. The deal fell through, so they gave me the owners number and the deal was closed. I was now the
PROUD owner of an 02' White 996 Cab. After dealing with the poor excuse of a transport company Tonne Trucking (still working with a lawyer on it), my car finally arrived on December 23rd.
As beautiful a car as Porsche makes, you know it is not staying stock for long.

"Cargraphic Chrome 19" 3 Piece Racing Wheels" With Dunlop SP9000s
Within the hour of the its arrival my car has NEW shoes
8.5 X 19 ET 40 with 245/30R19
11 X 19 ET 58 with 305/25R19
Erik from Cargraphic getting his hands dirty for me putting them on.

The center caps are from Ralph Boothe, they are spectacular. They look great with the Cargraphic Wheel! Had them before the wheels and they are the first part I ordered for my car...
Now with the wheels on, the fun is just about to begin. First step: Window tint, 35% all around...

Inner Beauty
I didn’t touch this project, I put it in the capable hands of Manny from DMC Auto. I’ve seen his work and he is a buddy. I knew he was the man for the job being that I always say he has hands of Gold. Not to mention, he is a perfectionist. I wanted the interior to match the "good looks" of the exterior, it was decided to color coordinate and do a white interior trim kit. In addition new Cargraphic white face gauges were installed. Also installed was the Silver Porsche Crest on the horn pad to match the one we intended to do on the exterior of course from Ralph Boothe. I was very careful with the selection of what pieces to paint because of the powerful combination of black & white. After posting these pictures on 6speed, I receive suggestions and feedback. One that stuck with me was from msindi, His suggestion, paint the front door speakers. I did exactly that when I painted the wing. More on the wing later.
A must have, especially coming out of a 986S - B&M short shifter installed.

Vanity - Exterior Beauty
I was hands on with this project, of course with the help of Manny again. Installation was about 2 hours and not to difficult. I enjoyed doing the install very much.
Since I am not quite sure what exactly I was doing in regards to the wing.. I started with the new generation Cargraphic GT3 Nose, Cargraphic aluminum grills, side markers and the GT3 side skirts. For those of you that don’t know, I’m a huge fan of the GT3.

The Tail
Now this was a project. I tried on different tails all beautiful but not for me. I wanted the new generation GT3 wing. Everyone kept telling me it would not work. One concern was if we lowered it, the top blade would be too close to the lower blade and it would look sandwiched. I wasn’t happy with that answer and did some research. I contacted Britt (Grey Ghost) and asked if he could Photo Shop the GT3 wing on my car. With no hesitation he did. Here are the pictures. The first is the picture I sent him to work with.

When I saw these, it was first hope that it could be done ... So a BIG thank you to Britt!
I showed the pictures to Hershel and Erik, it was agreed to do it! I now needed a bodyshop that was capable of the custom work that needed to be done. I thought of Daytona Cosmocar (Board Sponsor). The facility is amazing along with a very talented crew!
I spoke with Tommy and George at Daytona, showed them Britt’s photo shopped pictures and they assured me that it would not be a problem and they can do it... I dropped my car off at their facility in L.I.C. and tried to wait patiently. They kept me informed with emails of pictures.

Cargraphic Coilovers
I needed to do the Cargraphic coilovers next. Who better to help me then Bobby Singh from Manhattan Motorsports. We have all seen the results of the Cargraphic 996TT on the road course at the Shot Out in California. Bobby was the man behind it. So I called Bobby asked for his help and off I went to his new shop. I was also very hands on with this project had no idea what I was in for. Seven hours later, soar arms and a lot of abuse from the boys.. the install was complete.

Cargraphic 96 3.6 Complete Power Kit
I couldn’t handle the stock exhaust, not for me... I wanted a louder, Deep and Throaty sound coming from my car..That is the signature sound of Cargraphic Exhaust. The sound needed to match the visual. Once again I asked Manny for help. I was hands on and it only took two hours, direct bolt-on using OE hardware... I did the complete power kit: Tips, Headers, High Flow Cats, Medium Sound Backboxes, BMC Airfilter and of course the ECU. We decided on the Medium sound level mufflers because it’s a cab and didn’t want it too loud with the top down.

wow!!
Looks like tons of work and it turned out very, very nice!
Congrats on a nice white car
I think I would rate it a 9.7 on a scale to 10...
If only you had some white trimmed floor mats it would be a 10 !
-sorry, I could not resist
