Someone Tried to Steal my emblem, Now What?

Sorry to hear about that- Someone violating your pcar like that is the real pisser.
I bought a 'titanium' finish Carrera script from Sunset Imports and replaced my black one. This is the color for the 997's. $21 or something like that. It is a darker silver/gray and looks good against black paint IMO.
More subtle than silver yet a bit more contrast than black.

If you're going to replace the script, getting the new one aligned properly is key. I replaced my black script with a silver one and to align the new one I first taped over the TOP of the letters and the right edge with masking tape. Hopefully you have enough of yours left to do that. Remove the old one (or what's left of it) with dental floss and a spray lubricant like WD40. Get the old glue off with 3M Adhesive remover and/or WD40 (available at hardware stores and auto supply stores). Then clean with paint cleaner, and finally use 3M Imperial Hand Glaze (don't wax if you want the script to adhere well). After all this, there should be nothing left of the old glue. Line up the top of the new script with the bottom of the masking tape and the right side with the masking tape on the right
Oh, one more thing. The the top of the capital "C" in "Carrera" either curves toward you for post-2001 models (where the script is mounted lower on the lid where the lid is concave). If you have a pre-2002, make sure you don't get that script. You'll need to buy part no. 996-559-237-07-4PU for a 1999-2001 model. I found this out the hard way.
