Stereo Quick Fix?

I have a blown speak in the rear that is driving me crazy. I'm currently all stock and I'm looking to find reccos on what to use to replace. Ideally, I want a cheap and cheerful solution that I can install myself.

Is this difficult? What fixs? What sounds good? Should I upgrade the fronts while I'm in there? Any suggestions please - I'd love to keep it to $300-400, is that realistic?

Cheapest, easiest; pull off the rt rear trim, remove the speaker, match it up, done...
Bigger, badder, costly... shell out some more cash, take it to a reputable shop, upgrade the whole system. Point being, oil the squeak, or replace the whole unit

See if you can find a stock one on ebay...it would probably be about $50....to upgrade to anything decent would be about $200 for the rears and if you have door speakers already in the fronts another $400 for the fronts. But the real issue is the amp, as its not very powerful and puts out a non standard 3 ohms instead of 4 ohms....so you are in for amp and speakers....amp is another sya $500...but now you have the problem that the head unit sounds crappy and you can really hear now because of the amp and speaker upgrade...so add another $500-$1500 depending on what you wanna go with....oh now you want decent low end too? Add a sub and amp for that...$1500....now you have my system...and you are happy...lol....

Just so you know if you're looking to replace them yourself, a 4" coaxial will fit but you need to modify the mounting locations as the stock speaker is held in with 3 small offset screws.

Thanks for the suggestions. Too many other mods in front of a full system upgrade, but I am curious to learn more info about the "modification of the mounting locations".

Sonic can you tell me more? I'd love to just pick up a new set of 4" and get them in myself.

Also a quick run to a few shops got me quotes around $300. Seems crazy-high to me.
