My new '04 C4S is still sitting at the port in Baltimore for the past 2 wks. And from what I understand it will not be released until it passes the EPA inspection, which will put the delivery nearly 6 wks after it arrived at the port as I was told by PCNA this afternoon.

Does anyone know for a fact that when Porsches are sitting at their port of arrival in U.S., are they parked outside in the open or are they parked inside a building?

My biggest concern is having my car sit outside in the blazing sun for almost 5-6 weeks. I'm worried that the sun will have damaging affects on the all Leather interior, let alone the exterior paint finish. I maybe over-reacting here but all I know is that if the car was mine, I would not park it outside in the 90+ degree hot sunny weather for a 5-6 week period of time.

I'm thinking of canceling this one and placing a re-order. Had I known this was going to be the case, I would have not ordered the car, I was told it would arrive in early August at my dealer, after having placed the order in early May.

Any comments or suggestions, am I going nuts or I am sane?

 

but I think GT's sat in the same port for several weeks as well.
Also HBO has a show called "Wire", and it's about the same port...
I would call PCNA and try to make sense out of it...

 

I don't think the cars are left in the sun.
I believe they are shipped in containers

 

I am waiting for my c4s cab, also been sitting in Newark NJ for the last couple of weeks. Dealer said Porsche is stubborn and will release at the appointed date...Sept. 27th.
