Winshield cracked while at track

I was at Thunder Hill yesterday and I just finished the 4th session of the day. I was following a NSX off track to the pits and when I rock came up and hit my windshield. We were only going 15-20 mph and we were in the hot pits. What kills me is that this didn't happen on the track. We we were just getting off to park. In addition, it's in my line of vision so it'll annoy me until it's fixed. Does anyone know how much this would cost to repair and have any recommendations on where to get this fixed (only considering a Porsche replacement)? I'm in the SF Bay Area.

check your insurance and see if windshield is covered. It may be...and you are cool.

If not..I used SAFELITE...they can come to you or drive into one of their offices. My new OEM Porsche windshield installed was just a little under $200. not too bad....good luck!

I had the same thing happen to me on the way to an autox. I called a company here in SoCal and a factory replacment window including the install was $400. It's $650 if you have the rain sensor.

I had a similar "bullseye" crack right in front of my direct line of sight. Had it filled at a glass repair shop for $60. 95% invisible. Time is of the essence with those: the sooner after the incident you get if fixed, the more invisible it tends to be.

Dont replace the windshield. Take it to a good glass place and have them drill it and fill it. Like stated it will be 90% invisible. Just do it before the windshield cracks then you HAVE to replace the whole windshield

Does your insurance cover this?

You may want to call your insurance company.

I have Wawanesa policy and they cover it ($50 deductible).
