Question Removing & Painting Door Speaker Grills.........HELP!

I'm planning on painting a few interior items on my my99 996 cab Arctic Silver.

I've searched around looking for a post that will tell me how to remove the door speaker grills but I haven't been able to find anything yet. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Also, I'm still looking to understand what I should expect when I try to pry off the center surround for the radio/AC/AC vent. I think it will come off in three separate pieces but I'm not sure exactly what's the best way to get them off and if the AC vent comes off with the center part...........

Thanks in advance for your help!

John

Found it!

I found it in the DIY section on RennTech.Org.

Great stuff. Thanks to Loren for all his efforts and support there.

Yeah, Loren is a champ- He's hooked me up with great info several times.

Where did you get the paint?

Does anyone know if there is paint that matches the aluminum/silver of the ebrake handle inlay?

I got the paint from paintscratch.com but I have also purchased matching paint from my local auto body paint supply store. They customer mix the color and load it in a spay can. Once can for color base coat and one can for clear coat. You can really get great results on smaller items. The prep is the key. This items needs to be very clean (I used SEM soap, specifically made for part paint prep) and you need to use a special primer that promotes adhesion. You can also find the primer at paintscratch.com.

As far as the interior color, I think there is Arctic Silver and Alumalook. You can look up the color code for Arctic Silver on RennTech, I don't know about Alumalook. They are not the same color.

Hope that helps.
