Cruise Control no workie

So I hit the master button, little cruise light goes on. Hit the set button on the stalk going 70. Nothing. Checked the fuse, but it seems the brake lights and cruise control share the same fuse which is fine. Any ideas on how to furthur diagnosing the problem before bending over for the dealer to take a look at it? Thanks!

The verdict is. When I removed the clutch helper spring, there is a little hidden microswitch that I didn't see at first which now has contact with the clutch pedal all the time. So the car thinks the clutch is depressed, when it really is not, thus not letting the cruise control to activate. Voila! solution, "adjust" the bracket the microswitch is mounted on.
