We have and A6 and A4 and though I love the drive the comfort level is somewhat lacking. After an hour in the A6 my back is killing me and I've tried all the adjustments. Previously owned E500 MCB and S500 and nothing compares to the comfort of the Mercedes seats. If comfort is your goal can't beat a Mercedes.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I'm not looking to spend a ton of dough though (between the Turbo and a Superformance Cobra on the way...I need to be somewhat responsible!!).

So I would like to stay in a lease range under $800 per month (36 months and lowest possible mileage allowance). I hadn't even thought of Lexus as I still think of it as the car my Dad drove...but the new LS and even the GS look pretty cool. I'm not feeling that A3 but i will look at it at the dealer.

Dawgdoc...that's exactly what I needed to hear...I don't need another uncomfortable car...I want this one to be soft, moderately fun to drive and have loads of electronics...plus AWD for bad weather.

Infiniti M45.... fantastic car
New Caddy CTS... I love how it looks inside and out, haven't read any reviews yet how it drives

Both should be in your range and both have all the bells and whistles

For all the bells and whistles and a GPS NAV and Bluetooth that works really well I would say go for the GS450h - it has more power than you realize for a hybrid and its very comfortable. I had two of them GS430 and a GS450h. It's sporty when it wants to be. I not a Mercedes fan, Love the Audi's A8L but its not to be had for $800 a month or less, the A3 is a great DD(considered it).

My BMW is a manual tranny and frankly I'm ready to wake up and not think...how much will my knee and hip hurt by the time I get to work?

So...since I already have a BMW (a 2000 5 series)...I don't want to get another one. Mercedes...I don't know...I have the GL450 which is sweet but the wife loves it and I can't pry it out of her hands...an E class seems a bit snooty looking to me (no real reason why...just my own craziness)...so now I'm thinking A6. Anyone have one that could give me some thoughts?

I really want a comfortable ride, loads of electronics (ipod, sat nav, sat radio and bluetooth phone)...but I want them to be easy to use.

Am I missing another car I should be considering?

Thanks guys! Apologize again for another DD thread!
the perfect car for you is the Acura RL. comfortable ride, quiet (i read acura engineers even toned down the clicks for the indicators), all the electronics you want including bluetooth, and SH-AWD. (super handling AWD) not to mention its pretty cheap, great reliability, and good re-sale value.

more info here -> http://reviews.cnet.com/sedan/2006-a...tag=prod.txt.2

you can learn more about the unique AWD system here -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SH-AWD

essentially what it does is distribute torque to the left and right wheels depending on slip, usually AWD systems simply adjust fore and aft.

My '06 Audi A4 Avant works great in the snow - it has all the electronics - rear tv for the kids, bluetooth, navigation, hard wired V1, Sirius - 17k miles and no issues

Snow

A6 3.2, Q7 Diesel (soon)

Leases on a GL550 are cheap now

but I would get a LR3 if you don't mind the high gas bill

This could be the longest thread ever if you don't set your priorities first:

Choose Configuration first: Sedan, Hatch, SUV, PU
Choose provenance: Euro, Jap, USA
Choose drivetrain: Motor and Gearbox, AWD or FWD maybe even RWD but think snow etc.
Choose Brand: a comparo would be good

Pick car.

Otherwise we are running around stupidely giving choices.

For me:

Turbo and C300

I don't have to deal with snow, yet I need a sedan for various of my activities, I need prescence, don't require extreme performance...

previous DD as back up

a DD is really a matter of convenience more tha a visceral choice, other priorities for me are: service, mpg, durability, safety

The Lexus GS w/ AWD or the Infiniti M w/ AWD would fit your needs very well.
You can also get a great deal on the Acura RL, has all the bells and whistles with AWD also. Probably the least "sporty" of the three, and most comfortable.
Good luck!

I test drove a Lexus a long time ago and almost fell asleep in the process. They're just so BORING to drive.

Let us know what you come up with, Justin.

Yeah Jason I know what you mean about the Lexus...but that's what the Turbo and Cobra are for! Although like all of you...I'm sure it will quickly bore me to death...urrgh...this should not be so hard!

As a side, it was about 40 degrees this morning and my car was noticeably faster...just a side note...
