Info On Sirius Satellite Radio In 997 Turbo
When I had mine installed, Porsche offered XM and Sirius with a Porsche Part # (OEM). Now, according to "997 Turbo Tip," there is no sirius from Porsche (Porsche Part #). It is available aftermarket. Nav TV etc. The suncoast unit is aftermarket.

You have three options:
1. Install a stand alone Sirius tuner, connect it through an FM modulator that cuts off the signal coming from your antenna when the Satellite tuner is on. This will give you the cleanest sound for this type of system. If your just listening to talk and baseball then this would work well. A car stereo shop should be able to put this in for 300-400 bucks. Make sure you find a shop that can do work on high end cars, no hacks.
2. Get the Sirius kit for the Cayenne from the dealer, about $1000. You will need to find someone willing to install it. This will be a tuner with fiber optic interface built in and an antenna.
3. Get the NAV-TV system. You can check there web site for an installer near you. I have this in my CTT and it works OK. It consists of a Sirius tuner box, fiber optic interface box and antenna.

Even though my new car won't be here until March, I called my dealer and told them to attempt to get me the Sirius unit. The part number for the Sirius unit I had installed (no cd changer) in my previous 997TT in September of 2006 was 955-044-900-36. At the time there were 4 different set ups available. XM & Sirius both with or without a cd changer. The part was $842.29 and installation was $850.00. It WAS installed by my dealer who is very mod friendly.
The last Sirius unit in the country I sold. I had 6 at one time because they are NLA. The part number for the Sirius w/or wo CD changer no longer exist. The only option is the XM now. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

The kit we put together is modified to literally plug and play and is mounted under cover in the trunk. It is seamless with the OCM since it was designed for the PCM. <o

I did a dealer search last week and there was nothing. I really needed one. Now there is some question whether or not there are some parts from the Audi version that are interchangeable but you would then have to buy a unit for the Audi as well.
I just purchased my 2007 Turbo. I really miss the Sirius Satellite radio in my former car. I want to get Sirius put in my new Turbo. What are my options? Does anyone know a good shop in Orange County, CA that can handle the job? I would like to have it fully integrated into the stock system. Thanks!
Thats probably the only thing bothering me about this acquisition..... Ill settle for XM since I hear Sirius is not available? I know I can get the Dension from BumperPlugs but Id rather be able to get the unit locally here in CA and the install at the same place so I have leverage/recourse if there is ever a problem.
I just spoke to my dealer.
They can now do a fully integrated Sirius install...no visible antenna, fully controllable via PCM.
I made an appointment for Tuesday...will let you know how it goes!
