I can't comment on the Tip as I have not had a chance to drive it. Maybe Sharky can chime in here. The EVT700 has not yet been released so I personally don't know about pricing. It should be released in the next month. As far as availability is concerned, your local Evo distributor will be able to do your install. How does the tip drive with the EVT700 system ? What can you tell us about it ? Lag ? Slipping clutch/tranny ? OEM tranny handles extra power ? There are alot of tip owners who have 7500-10000 miles plus on their rides and are ready for a bit more boost. Any info. would be appreciated.

So a few of us decided to go to the drag strip today at Speedworld here in AZ.
We had the following cars there:
Me EVT 700 (11.2, 133mph)
RenntechV12 GT700 GT2 (11.0, 135 mph)
Mike@Evo GT750 3.8 996TT (?, 137 mph)

Great day. Temps were in the mid to upper 60's and the track was pretty sticky.
I was running Street Michelin PS2's ont he Fikse 19"s and was having a very hard time with traction. I could not get the car to hook up right for the life of me. (This is my 1st time at the drag strip with a Turbo) My best time was an 11.2 and my best trap speed was 133.7 mph.

1st off your 1 lucky ****..

I know how you feel taking the Turbo to the trac kfor the 1st time. It's a PITA to get traction/times. Take it to a road course then you'll see how fast it really is.

Those SL65's are amazing. Can't beleive the owners actually took em' to the track.(mad respect)

 

luis congrat on trap speed ! Wicked for your first time out there... And good to see mike out there with his... I know that thing has to be pretty effing quick! He did his right that's for sure...

 

hey toresq1, the EVT700s we've done have both been 6speeds (the next three will be as well). We're doing a lot more 6speeds than tips on the 997TT side. Having said that I know from experience on my old car the tranny can handly upwards of 750 and a _LOT_ of abuse..... I wouldn't worry about the tranny having issues at that level. As far as lag goes the 997TT EVT700 has to have the least amount of lag of any GT/EVT kit we've ever done. It's na-like.
