When do dealers start taking '09 orders?
I was originally going to get a late '08 build but I'm thinking more and more that I'll likely wait for the '09s, which I assume will be after the August factory hiatus. So when do the dealers find out what new options are available and start taking the orders for the MY2008? I'm hoping there's a little power bump in addition to the LED tails and exterior 'freshening.' Maybe even a new color?

We'll probably start taking deposits sometime in late spring or early summer. we won't know exactly how many we'll get until the allocations are released in late July or August.

I hate to see porsche acting like other bottom feeder manufacturers by cutting quality to increase their bottom line. M97 in a TT, say it isn't so.....

That post about the discontinuation of the GT1 based engine is interesting, but does it make sense to do that midway through a chassis production life? Why not just wait until the 998? I cannot recall ever seeing a manufacturer in recent history doing such a thing with a high-profile sportscar.

Porsche wants to switch to the direct injected version of the M97 engine, which the NA 997's will receive. The DI engine gets slightly more power and slightly better gas mileage. The latter is of particular interest to PAG.
More Power/ More MPG....Especially on the smaller engines like the Boxter & Cayman
