Seriously aside, the tips from jhbrennan is good but this is how you'd want to do it. Use the hair blower a bit on each section for a short bit just to warm up the adhesive and then use the dental floss to carefully remove the badge starting from one end to the other. You'll definitely break a couple of strings but be patient, it'll eventually come off. You'll be left with adhesive residue on the paint. Use the 3M adhesive remover lightly and then carefully peel off the rest of the residue. Clean it up afterwards with some detailer spray and then use polish.

Fishing line works but hurts like HELL if you're not wearing rubber gloves! Dental floss doesn't hurt as much.
I have been wondering what it would look like if I paint it black on a white cab. any advise?

plastic primer

remember to use a plastic primer before any colour you choose.

mine is gold on atlas grey.
