Very closely matched. It would be interesting to note that Best Motoring's test 911 is an auto without LSD. Also, in vid #3 they show how badly the 997tt is pushing over the front outside treadblocks because of the insanely timid negative camber that is dialed in on the stock alignment

this is not right. this video GTR has R compound tires. Porsche has PS2 tires. of couse GTR won. also Mines GTR has alreday aftermarket high rate springs. I will get GTR this summer. we see how this cars first. I had before R32,R33, has not good and not first. that why I paly with porsche long time...

the GTR looks so much bigger wow. give the weight advantage of the Turbo it's amazing to see how GTR pulls away in the vid #4. let's be fair. gotta give the GTR some credit.

GTR has a HP advantage, the numbers are understated. Bottom line is the GTR is one bada$$ ride.

Sweet mother...Do we have to go through this again? If I see another elitist "Porsche is better than [insert here]", I'm going to puke...

no not really, I guess I was misunderstood....I used to have a 90 Skyline R32 for a year and a half, so you could say I am a fan of Skylines, but if I were to choose between them, I would take the 997tt thats all....sorry to not explain myslef

A bunch of my buddies had R32 GT-R's as well..they we're good fun cars. If i had to choose to buy a new car right now though, I would take the GT-R over any porsche, except for possibly the Turbo. The GTR is just embarassingly better than the porsche bottom end range rite now

The GT-R is an amazing engineering feat. That's undeniable. However, I don't feel it is direct competition to the 997TT. I'd spend $130k on a 997TT before I'd spend $70k (or $90-100k, due to the initial markup) on the GT-R. Mind you, this is coming from a guy who traded a modded Motorex R33 GT-R for a modded 996TT.
