GTR vs Gallardo SL vs 911 turbo vs GT-3 vs NSX-R on track
Judging by the clunky gearbox and harsh ride, the GT-R is the best Nissan has to offer? Or am I mistaken, the V-spec will be slightly lighter (3600 lbs
) and even stiffer. And we all know the TT is well down in the food chain at Porsche, so even at their best Nissan comes up short.Well it seems as if the only true comparison tests done by Nissan drivers yielded them nearly even, and everything since then has been obscured with discrepancies.
When you actually know what you are talking about pay us a visit and try again.
997TT beats a Z06?
ROFLMAO. Step away from the crack pipe. Even if Chuck Norris was driving the 997TT it still wouldn't beat a Z06 or a GTR. Are you expecting the Porsche badge to generate some kind of special forcefield round the car? Does the PASM have a cheat mode?
I'm not deliberately pouring derision on the 911, it's come a long way from its origins as a tarted up Beetle but know your place in the food chain.

according to wikipedia an EVO holds the record are Tsukuba
I would say it favors short wheelbase cars rather than AWD. You just dont see anything other than mostly Japanese cars out there anyways.
The only thing that favors AWD cars is slippery conditions - wet track or rally course. No other manufacturer besides Porsche to my knowledge builds cars that can roll off the showroom floor and run 10 years worth of track events without crumbling to pieces. Corvettes - even Z06's - are no exception.
Man, these thread just never seem to quit... I guess that's the beauty of the internet. Like *******s, everyone has an opinion.
We need to have a recognized racer (would love to see Danica Patrick since she has a Gallardo) compare these cars "stock" but fully optioned (so no tuner stuff) and get an opinion. Of course she might be biased towards a Lambo so we'd have to include another racer; an ALMS racer would be good that's driven for a lot of diffrent teams. Then perhaps we can put this to bed.
I suspect R&T will eventually have to do a smackdown to reveal the truth. Maybe Top Gear will do something.
I don't have dog in the fight but I think the speculation will go on through the summer... I'm entertained in the meantime reading these rants.... pass the pop-corn!

hahhaa
How applicable is that to every day driving? Does it make you feel better that you own a car that did a lap on some track faster than another car? I don't care if the GTR beat the 997TT going BACKWARDS I still wouldn't buy it over the 997TT. How often will you even approach the potential of any of these cars? Simple fact is I didn't grow up dreaming about owning a Nissan - as good as it may be. Now, If I had a track in my backyard and all I cared about was how fast I could get around that track, then maybe I'd give it more consideration.
There are lots of things that determine what car I buy. Not just what it did in some magazine test.

I don't care, cause I have a car that will humiliate both, carry on with your bickering!
I am saying that when TT came out, TT matched the 430's performance for half the price. And everyone, including me, was excited that TT was able to hang with 430 for less money. Now Nissan matched TT's performance with GTR for less money, but some people in here is talking like it is a sin for other cars to match TT's performance.

Seems like people are always trying to find ways to prove they are better than the other person based on what car they have. I say see who's the better driver and meet at the track, that way it's on the person, not the car. Cars are inanimate objects, not affected by pressure, a real challenge is too a persons skills behind the wheel, not behind the keyboard.
Seems like the Japanese have been trying to prove something for far too long with the BM videos, and it has always been somewhat of a joke, but now it's rediculous. They used to really go at it on the track at least. And there is no doubt the Japanese performance cars are very capable, but the exaggerations are aggravating.
