Who the **** cares?

 

HAving owned both, a 2008 z06 and a 2008 997TT, the answer is that the z06 is faster. The problem with the z06 is that it is still just a vette and when you pull into the local car meet or dinner place you look just like the guy with the $25k vette. The car has little or no exclusivity..... but what a performer (if you can tolerate the lifter tick from the right part of the dash). It was a cool car to drive just "not me", if that makes sense.

 

Thanks guys, I don't feel as bad anymore...The Z06 is impressive though, I was shocked to see tail lights, even with 500 pounds of man meat in the car.

Regardless I can't have that happen again, she's getting dropped off at ASR Engineering today for some goodies

Well, the Corvette has more power, and weighs less. It doesn't surprise me one bit. If the Z06 had work done to it, you'll have a hard time catching up.

 

Maybe Roseanne Barr is technically excellent in bed and great at making cookies, but who wouldn't rather be seen with Gisele Bundchen? I wanted to buy the Vette but the interior looks like a Cobalt to me. The Turbo conversely comes across like a proper object of well-engineered lust.

I have raced 7 to date with my 996TTS (510HP) and have yet to lose any 0-120MPH race.

 

The 997 TT is better launching, the Z06 is faster accelerating, on the street anything can happen.

The Z06's shorcoming is that it's not a complete car IMO. The brakes are bad, quality problems and the base C6 has a stiffer chassis for racing. So in essence the "hydroformed" aluminum chassis is fluff. GM is Z06's worst enemy, because they cant make anything without the cheapness showing it's face at some point.

But other than that, it beats down anything other than a 08 Viper and 997 GT2 in stock form under 200k. If GM were to put a better set of tires on it, the 08 Viper might even be crossed from that list.

 

how can anyone say that the stock 997tt is faster? i have seen several(different cars different drivers) stock c6 z06 timeslips in the 11.2/11.3 @ 127. has one stock 997 turbo gone that fast? hell 6speed member jamie furman put one into the 10's stock.

That's incredible! High tens stock?!!! I'm buying one, seriously I'm looking...I'm gonna to paint it flat black.

 

Chances are you wont get anywhere near 10's stock, but you'll still be faster than the TT.
