$800 headers for 997tt

saw these headers for the 997tt from maxspeed-motorsports for $800. looks like a great deal and cheaper than getting the oem units ports and extru-honed.

http://www.maxspeed-motorsports.com/997ttheaders.html

btw, i was told that the 996tt and 997tt exhaust manifold is the same which would mean the headers are the same as well. does anyone know?

Never heard of these guys before. I dont' know about you guys, but anything that goes into my tt needs to be from a reputable company. It kind of makes you wonder when other well known companies like AWE, EVO, Cargraphic, and many others sell their systems for over $1800 and this system is only $800.

Agreed. I'd be leery about something that's "new to the game" and these guys sound like it. Even to the point where I'd end up paying more for certain parts.

Having changed my headers a few times I would venture a guess that the piping orientation would make changing the bolts very difficult. The access to the lower half of the head flange is almost completely obstructed

Looks like your typical Chinese header with poor quality stainless and high carbon flanges. Don't expect to get more than 1-2 years out of those before they crack...

Thanks Eugene, that's a very helpful piece of advise.

here's a picture of MBRP's prototype header showing a better design that allows access to the outer flanges bolts.

The flanges are stainless, but I don't think the weld are back purged...

Yeah I'll bet they are using a high carbon stainless which is cheaper than cheap. The also have virtually none of the heat and anti corrosion properties that 304/316/321 have.
