It is all in the adjustment and how you tighten everything up. We can hit dead on every time. All in the adjustment, but not at the tips, the whole system.

Keep in mind that $800 is cheap compared to the Techart tips which sells for $1500!!! But I believe those tips fit perfectly from the start.

The same type tips for a Corvette will cost about $200, and that's a rip off.

If you are putting the tips on the factory exhaust (as I did on my '05 997S car) WHY should I have to adjust the "whole system?" If the factory tips were even why shouldn't the Fabspeed tips also have been even?

To bring this thread back, I just tried to get my tips right and had no luck.

I think it comes down to the fact that the system is in pieces. If each section is off a little, it adds up. Pain in the ***, though.

LoL!!

That would drive me crazy though.

Stockers on Tubi look exactly like stock.

And especially paying out so much cash and time. AWE stands behind their product from what I have heard.

Just like Stephen said, there are simply so many variables throughout the exhaust system that regardless of which brand/tip style you choose, anytime you drop and mod the exhaust you will have to fiddle quite a bit to get things to line back up. As a shop that installs all major exhaust brands on the market on a regular basis, I can personally tell you no one fits any better "for the money" than any other, its just a matter of loosening that bolt, tightening this bolt etc... After doing a number of them you get to where you can line them up pretty perfect everytime, just a matter of patients. Good luck on the installs guys.

I know you're playing with words, but we are patients, and as such, hardly patience....but tell me why then does the porsche factory exhaust system go on like a glove all-the-time...new cats, new tips, etc., and never issues or problems!!

Good reason for buying a Tubi - No pieces to put together, all one, fully welded piece; cats. pipes & muffler.....Well actually one piece for each side but you get my drift.

Lol, I'm not arguing with you one way or another, simply offering reassurance that with enough fiddling, eventually you can get them right. My point is that vs. the factory exhaust, there are many more variables to get right with an aftermarket system. The Stock piece is basically one big piece... welded together:

Where-as most aftermarket systems have numerous different components, which allows for advantages like quick release muffler by-pass setups, cat by-passes, etc...

This also, of course means there are more places to get something just a hair off during the installation process, which in turn usually throws the next piece off a little, and so on. Often I find it isn't the tips themselves that need adjusting, but rather one of the other points further back in the exhaust. Hopefully this helps a little.

Agreed Tubi is probably the best for fit, etc., but the Tubi-sound is raspy and not deep throaty like SpeedArt or AWE.
