Low redline?

Why is the redline/limiter on this car so low? Fuel cutoff at 6900 rpm? I'm used to driving cars with rpm limiters at least in the 7000 range (and preferably up to over 8000). Seems like just when the power is coming on the fun's over...and it's tough not to bounce off the rev limited in 1st. I know some of the chips push the rev limiter to 7000, but are there any that push it to 7500 or higher?

Because the cars engine is not naturally aspirated and torque due to the turbo chargers build from down low.

If you want the high rev Porsche engine, look at the GT3 at 7,600

Aside from 1st gear which goes by way too fast, and maybe second, the low redline isnt really a problem, the gears go by slower and there is ample time to switch and you have plenty of audible indicators from the engine in the back as to when to do it without glancing down.

Just takes a little while getting used to after driving around in high strung M3s and M5s for sure.

Well yes in theory, but in reality the power is pretty peaky and there is a lot of lag. It gets rolling about 4000 rpm and then shoots up to 6900 and shuts off in an instant. If they increased the compression a bit and pushed the limiter to 7500 or 8000 rpm they could get the same amount of power with less lag and more flexibility, as I see it.

Actually the GT3 redlines much higher than that...8400 rpm. But the problem is that it doesn't still have the power of the turbo or look as good with the widebody and the other things that make the turbo look so great. Not to mention that it's not as good as a daily driver because it's more hard core.
