First time in a 997 TT!!
I live in your area . The Turnpike stretch which you are talking about near South Motors (BMW/Honda) is usually monitored by a lot of State troopers and your uncle and dad risked a huge traffic citation .
Nonetheless -- the car is fast as you descibe yet as fast as it is stock you have no idea what the car can do when modified. The level of performance is climbing with time as the tuners have had some time to explore this car over the last two years .
I am amazed at the EVT700 . It's been two weeks since my installation and compared to what the was was stock I feel like I am driving a whole new beast .
I still advise agaisnt racing in traffic -it's dangerous . I understand that a fast car can bring out a juvenile moment in a mature person . Yet you also share the road with the lowest common denominator of drivers too. The elderly person driving to the supermarket or the 16 year old on the highway is not equipped to deal with a 997tt and an R8 blow by them .
Be safe, enjoy the car , and tell your dad that if he thinks his car is fast --it's only warming up .

When we zoomed passed the R8 my dad called me and told me to tell my uncle to slow down.
Because right before we got to south motors a cop pulled over a ford GT 40.
Black w/ gray stripes.
we started by south motors and went on to the ramp right before the big and tall store?
do you know what im talking about?
and he lives right by dadeland mall so we went on that turnpike.
hehe, i still love the R8.

You guys are neighbors of mine. It's a small world even on the internet .
But I have an even better example . I once posted on a forum and after a few posts realized that another poster's mom lived right next door to my mine .
For anyone who likes to go fast in a straight line FL is the place.
We have a bunch of east west highways (wouldnt recommend the north south) and they are straight for miles and hardly driven most of the time. Its easy to get up to warp speed in the Turbo.
I ve never seen a deer or an animal of any kind near the east west roads.
Wish we did have some curves tho, I trade top speed for some challenging curvy back country roads like we have in Virginia.

Famous last words . . .

Agree. Anyone who drives 175 on public roads is an idiot, period full stop. Tell your uncle to join PCA and head to the track. Plus, curves are more fun than straights.
Okay -cool down on the name calling. They are alive and no one got hurt. We ALL have done some IDIOTIC things in our cars. He didn't post to get preached. I don't condone going that fast on an open stretch but I can tell you that I have. Was it the smartest thing? No but it happened.
I don't see you guys calling the 2 shift 60-130 or beyond guys idiots? I think we have documentation on them don't we? We know Mexican Highways aren't always in Mexico.
Bragging about street racing on a crowded street going at unsafe speed is grounds for being called an idiot. Open stretches of roads is tempting for anyone with a Sports Car or Minivan.
To everyone - be careful and live to enjoy your cars..

Kareem - I am almost certain I saw your uncle today . I don't jog often these days and usually swim but when I do jog I take a specific path . Today the weather led to a jog and on my usual path a dog jumped out of nowhere so I changed it.
I went into the area near where your uncle might be and lo and behold a 997tt in lapis slowly drives by . I wave and said "wait" but the driver did not know me nor I him .
I had never seen the car and I live only aboit a mile from him . In fact on my normal jog path there's another 6speed member (krown 05) and I didn't even know he posted on the 6 until I wrote this thread . It really is a small world https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.phpt=133955
