My uncle has had his 997 TT for a while, and I always see it parked in the garage becuase he doesn't need to use it that much(his office is 2 blocks away from where he lives).
We were leaving south motors and he asked me if I wanted to hop in.
So we got in and my dad was in front with the R8.
We got off and he took it slow then out of no where her punches it and and we zoom by everything!!
I had no idea it was that fast.
We get to light, my dad is right next to him.
So we just wait till the green light.
It turns green and we take off the my dad took off a split second before but in about 3 seconds the Turbo passed him.
I looked in the side view mirrors and I see the R8 getting farther and farther away....
after that we get on the the turnpike and the ramp was crowded so he was bobing and weaving through traffic, then we hit the straight.
Suprisingly not that many people were on the turnpike so he punched it.
Its a rocket!!!!
Im not sure but I think we went hit about 175.
The end result is that the 997 TT is an amazing car!!

I'm busy right now but I will post pics later on tonight.
I dont know exactly the color but its a dark blue.
I think midnight blue or something like that.

Your uncle sounds a tad bit irresponsible frankly.

 

In all fairness, the Florida turnpike is a bit like the Autobahn...long, flat, straight stretches. Traffic moves very quickly and if you are there at the right time of day there are long stretches with no cars. I can see how it would be very easy to hit 175 on it in a 997TT. Risky, yes, but not as much as you would think.

 

the car is build for such speeds, dont worry ;-)

KareemA4 - I would hide the plate for privacy and any stories of speeding majorly on a public road with a speed limit of 65/75
