help on some niggles

hi guys
i just want to ask you guys about two worries
1) when i crank the wheels completely to the left i hear a new strange cluncking noise like metallic gears banging!! is it something wrong with the steering or a suspension part or is it the front diff i don't hear it any other time or when the steering is completly turned to the right
2)i've just had a giac reflash at a local shop (avo at toysautoart) and altought i am please with the results the engine is now more responsive and stronger across the band i wonder why it now never pulls more than 1.0 bar and there seems to be no difference now in sport mode apart from the throttle mapping whatever the ext temp and i'm fulling it with 94 oct gas the local dealer verified there is no boost leakage please if there is a GIAC rep having an explenation for me!!

Im not so sure a problem exists, depending on temp the car can make the power with varying boost levels. I do know an exhaust will help the cause though. As EGT's rise the car will pull off a bit, more so with the stock exhaust.

Hopefuly more GIAC owners will chime in shortly.

I've experienced the same issue as mentioned in "1", on my car. I got a chance to drive another 997 TT Cab (mine's a coupe) and it did the same thing. The car has been serviced and maintained on a regular basis, and I have not heard anything from the Porsche Service dpt. Can someone confirm that they have the same issues

Is your car lowered? If so, what kind of setup did you go with? Just lower springs or a coilover setup?

Regarding the 1st problem... i have experienced this endlessly untill i had the front suspension changed. if its a loud KNOCKING noise its most probably the suspension mounting... no major issue u can drive the car but schedule and a visit to get it changed, should be fine after that.
