Mixed parts?
i have a ruf550 which is :
550 hp (404 kW) performance kit – manual transmission
my Q is does GIAC and the big tuners have different programms for each stage ? or its one program for stage1,2,3 and 4 ? thanks
550 hp (404 kW) performance kit – manual transmission
- Fine tuned engine electronics, sports air filter, conversion of exhaust with 4 round 76 mm end tips and sports catalytic converters, stronger clutch

I believe GIAC is a single tune for all stages...until you start modifying the turbos. I was told by Wayne at Ruf in Dallas that when Ruf modifies the ECU, the program is different for each HP package.
If you have the Ruf 550 package don't mess with adding a bunch of other things, kinda defeats the purpose of a one stop shop like Ruf. If one wanted to do all those things, better off going 'one peice at a time' like Johnny Cash sang about. jmo
When i had the tune and exhaust on my previous 997tt the car felt good but with adding the headers and intercooler the car really got faster and got a better acceleration from 160mph and up and the ruf550 is a bit heavy from that speed so i thought of adding the headers and coolers

Why dont you add all of the parts and let the ecu adapt to the new changes, drive it for a while and see how it responds and if its good then your satisfied. If the car didnt improve by much, contact Ruf and see if they can adjust the specific 550hptune for the new items you got installed.

they told me to leave it as it is or upgrade to the 600 and told me that 50hp is not a difference worth the extra $$ cuz the new turbos cost alot. They are really good people
I kind of figured that is what they would say...
Well, my best guess is that stuff like the boost recirculation valves (you're thinking EVOMS...right?) and intercoolers won't necessarily need a retune...I'm just not sure how the computer will interpret airflow with a plenum...on a stock engine, the ECU adjusts and learns with time...I'm not sure of the RUF retune acts the same way.
I'm assuming you're in Kuwait? The only other thing I can tell you is to dyno a baseline and tune using a dyno to make sure you're not hurting performance. I can't imagine you would be...
As for Chris's comments...I tend to agree with him...but I am a purist. You wouldn't be the first have a RUF car modified by another tuner.

just a guick one... i would recomend that you get some dinos dun on you car just to see what the a/f is befor and afrer..,your engine maping might change a little, On the a/f because of the better air movement, also you can take that print out on the a/f and send it to the person that programed your car.. this will give him some thing to fine tune you car..
