rscholl....there are far more folks who are quite happy with the Dension setup than you read about on the boards.

I'm sure that's the case. How does the ipod interface work? Does the ipod resume playing from the same spot? I had a Dice ipod unit in my X5 and I hated it. It reset to the beginning of my library everytime.

was that "Careless Whisper" by George Michael or "Spoon with me" by Lance Bass?

It was actually "Mandy" by Manilow.

The ipod part does indeed play from the same spot. Actually, the ipod part works good bar some slow load times when searching albums and song lists etc. The paging is a bit clunky too. But all in all - with well organized playlists - works well.

Hello,

A friend of mine works in your area; he and I are both planning to add Blue Tooth to our 997. With Dension having problem, we are now thinking Tooki. A couple of questions please:

1. Do you sell the Tooki unit?

2. Is auditioning, at your shop, a Tooki system that you've installed in a client's car a possibility please? My friend's work is within walking distance of your shop. Maybe we could arrange a time the next time you are installing a unit?

even though I am having problems with dension - I discounted tooki completely due to their (nav-tv) lack of response on product questions and some of my friends having severe echo problems along the lines of dension. I also discounted it because you have to get a separate unit for ipod - so gets expensive - fast. and even more expensive if you want to hook up satellite. So in my opinion, one device for everything is the way to go - so that leaves you with dension and mobridge.

I would definitely test it out before you assemble the car back after the install - thats a mistake I made (twice).

The other product - mobridge - but its so new there is not many reports on it. Also they dont have any in stock right now - their next batch is due next week.

I would like to add though - that Eric who sells both tooki (I think) and dension - has been very due diligent and professional throughout my specific problems - albeit not resolved yet, he has been proactively assisting me with possible resolutions. Dension on the other hand - like tooki - have not responded to my support requests.

One other thing I did notice about Dension is that they use to have quite a useful forum - but they took it down - I can only guess why ?. Their knowledge base is really not up-to-date and they claim that they will have better quality of service by not using a forum as a support mechanism versus a formal support mechanism. The latter - as in my support request - has been sitting there for over 10 days - their service level states that response is max 2 days. Go figure.

Great to hear it's working well!

And for all the naysayers, please, there is no huge Dension 'problem' as some of you refer to, but there is an echo issue on a FEW bluetooth units, while the iPod function is fine and has been for quite some time (sound quality, etc). Dension is working on the echo and has been for a few weeks, but it is much harder to isolate as it is not a frequent or prevalent problem across all installations.

Thanks for your patience.

We stock both products if you need. Just email me anytime for a 6speed special: eric@bumperplugs.com

Don't have installations here for you, but we do have pro installers in some areas who can show some things in advance if you like.

And keep in mind, Tooki, though a decent stand alone bluetooth solution (if all you need is bluetooth), is far from bug-free.

Dension is not 'having problems'....this is a small issue that will likely be resolved very shortly from Dension R&D.

"small issue" is not the word :-). Isolated issue is probably better. Im just one those unfortunate few - however, I can say, that eric is amazing to deal with.

Thanks Ray. Enjoyed echoing on the phone with you today.

I put together a blow-by-blow report and forwarded it to the Engineering folks at Dension, and to the head R&D guy as well. We've attached the notes to the ticket I created for you the other day.

Appreciate you letting me phone you in the car so we could capture it first hand. We'll get this working, hopefully soon. Thanks again.

cannga,

You can definetely come by and check it out. I will send you a pm with my cel phone number. I'm often at the dealers through out the day but would very much like to meet you and your freind. It's always a pleasure meeting other 6speeders.
I just got off the phone with Bob at Nav TV and he has informed me that a new update has just done last week and all the new units come updated. I will also add that I stand behind the tooki and everything we do 100%. If you don't like it I'll simply remove it and give you a 100% refund. There is a reason why I have been successful in this business for 12 years. I stand behind everything I do.

Thank you,
