Hello, my name is Jeremy and I own a custom car shop called Advanced Audio Designs in Sharon, MA. This is my first post on the forum and I wanted to share with you a radio upgrade we did in a 997 since everyone seems to be asking all sorts of questions about upgrading a radio in a 997.

This system includes new improved Kenwood KOS car portalsystem. It is now touch screen with, Sat radio, hd radio, video ipod, cd changer, nav, and it has a custom sound system. It is built from abs plastic, no bondo, no fiberglass.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Hi,

It is a Kenwood KOS-V1000 Hide away brain with a 7" touch screen LCD. The ipod is a fast speed video ipod. You can hide the ipod in the glove box and have it work through the touch screen just as how the ipod works. So if you want to search through Genres you can or shuffle you can, the screen shows the same thing as you ipod and the album covers as well.

We use some similar stuff that works a bit better from a a company called Nav-Tv. You can do back up camera, blue tooth on screen, ipod or a aux in, and video in motion.

Black PCM??? Do you mean the factory plastic dyed black? If so you we would just paint the trim balck to match perfectly.

Thnaks guys, in order to get the paint to match perfect we actually took apart the rest of the panels below the screen and dyed them as well.

So what you are saying is that the center pieces are not exactly "volcano gray?"

Whatever the case, you did a very nice job with the install.

Yes they are one shade off. I had no choice becuase I could not find the exact color match, so I decide to take apart the heater/ac controls and paint them as well to match the screen perfectly.
