I had a similiar problem. It ended up being a broken seal on the clutch fluid resevoir. It's covered under warranty.

Resurrecting an old thread.... This same thing happened to me with my new Cayman S while on the A-8 Autobahn headed to Munich, only 92 km (58 miles) after picking my car up from the Porsche factory.

There was a bad batch of slave cylinders. I know that this affected about 1,200 987s, and Porsche implemented a service campaign (W-802) to replace all of the slaves from the bad lot. I hadn't realized that this affected other models too.
The good news, if this happens to you, is that it's an easy fix and the car will be good as new.
