Porsche needs to step it up.
What can I say. 997TT is not a perfect car. As far as quality, I would say that there are many other sports cars out there that surpass this car. My car has had many little problems. Wobbly tires (factory defect... had them replaced at 2500 miles), noise front drivers speaker loose (fixed but problem back again), noise in the conv top well when the top is down, noise coming from the conv top when the top is up (creaking). And oh yah, lag.. I can feel this compared to my 997s.

But, I love the car and I would not buy another car if I had to do it over again.

So, let's say you buy a Rolls Royce. And maybe it's not quite as comforble as a Lexus. And maybe it is not as reliable as a Lexus. And it cost 3 times the Lexus. IT IS STILL A ROLLS ROYCE!!!

So you guy a 997 Turbo. It may not be a quick as a GTR. It may not be as reliable as a GTR.
IT IS STILL A 911 TURBO!!!

911 Turbo. There really is no substitute. Really....

And I'm sure you'd want perfect paint, perfect handling, perfect interior, etc etc etc. But the fact of the matter is that even down to Ferrari with poor paint (chipping, color variations and defects) even the most expensive cars will have some problems with them and things that annoy the people that buy them.

I agree the VTG's (sorry about that) = fail. But the fact is that turbo car = lag and a lot of the reason the GT-R feels like it has less lag is the tranny, it eliminates the bad driver aspect. The other part is that the VTG's just arent any better than regular non electronically controlled units.

I know how in my car, with K24's a good ECU flash (WITH EXHAUST) all but eliminates lag, but for people to be modding and they are still laggy is a problem.

You won't know or care what lag really is until you drive another turbos car with minimal or no lag such as GTR and 335.
