Any damage to my motor?

I was racing my friends' new stroked M5 and HPF turbo M3 yesterday and when I shifted out of third, I got to excited, and accidently yanked the **** into 2nd. The engine made this horrible loud sound and I quickly depressed the clutch agin and put it into 4th.

Everything seemed to run normal including the oil level indicator and temp.

I have heard that the TT motors are really robust. I hope I did not damage anything. Is their anything I should check?

Also, is it normal for the clutch pedal to have a slight creek and springy pop feeling (at the ball of your feet) at times when slowly letting off of it? This is only audible when I don't have the radio on. Thanks!

Plug in a Durametric scanner, and find out what range you over rev'ed to...

What is an acceptable range? I will need to take it into the dealership I guess.

Is the sound from the clutch that I described normal?

If the car is driving fine with no issues can there still possibly be damage?

So you're going to go to the dealer...they are going to scan your ECU, and find that you committed a over rev...if it is in range 2-6, they are going to tell you that you abused your engine...log it...and possibly deny warranty coverage.

I'd find a reliable Porsche tuner or workshop that is not dealer affiliated.

I didn't even realize that. I'd definately go to Ruf before going to a dealer.

If it's driving fine, just leave well enough alone.

Don't go to the stealer.

This happened to me on the same shift and as time went by i noticed near redline my car was way weaker. They told me i had an ignition in the range 5. Any ignitions recorded in 5-6 automatically void your motor warranty. 4 range is borderline, ends up being up to the dealer. 1 2 and 3 are normal all cars have them. We later discovered (i mean a good six months later) that i had bent my crank. I'm now dishing out 15 grand (Canadian) for them to give me a new motor or i should say re manufactured (2yrs warranty included). If you start noticing the car is hiccuping near redline there may be crank damage. You gotta realize you were at redline in second roughly 7500rpm, and then you went to second. That causes a mechanical over rev. You may have hit a lil over 9000rpm. I hit 9600 they told me. If you can get the ignition range data reset do it lol. Good luck man. My car gets back to me next week.

I say go out and flog your car for an afternoon. If it works fine, forget about it. If it breaks...

I agree take it to a reputable workshop not the dealer.

Yup, they checked it out and everything is fine. I did have a stage 5 over rev which put me in the 9k range. They went ahead and changed my pressure plate out under warranty since my clutch was making this slight clicking noise when I let off of it even in neutral.

The car is running strong so no worries here. They told me at the dealership that these car motors and trannys are very robust and can withstand a lot. I am truely amazed. I know if I did that in my M5 it would be game over most likely!
