Then you better stick with a tip. It is faster off the line when brake boosting and the launch is way more consistent.

Aaron,

The tip times are impressive with the 750 kit. I have a tip and really want to mod it, but I am confused by the plethora of tuners out there. I have a few questions regarding the Switzer tuning packages:

1. Cost for 900hp sledgehammer kit installed (you stated the 750 kit was $25K installed) ?
2. Are there any MY metro area installers ?
3. Who could service such a kit in the NY area once installed by Switzer ?
4. Is the tip tranny beefed up for the 750 kit ?
5. Is the tip tranny beefed up for the 900 kit ?
6. Whats the benefit of the Switzer product over another tuner ?
7. Do the kits have any warranty ? What is it ?

The 750 kit is the highest you can go with a tip, the Sledgehammer package is only good on a 6 speed where you can upgrade the clutch to handle the power. The Sledgehammer has 1000 crank hp, and the upgraded clutch is rated to handle up to 1200hp.

I am not sure about installers in NY, I think you would have to send your car to Tym Switzer's shop for the install in Ohio. I am not sure what all was done to the tip tranny as I bought the car already upgraded from GT RUS. You will have to ask Tym about the warranty stuff, I am not sure, I do know that he stands behind his work.

The benefit for me to choose Tym over another tuner is he has built the fastest 997 turbo to date that I know of with the Sledgehammer package. Also I am more than satisfied with this 750 hp tip car, 0-60mph in like 2.5 seconds is crazy fast.

Thanks David. It reached 60mph in 121.5 feet. The latest Car and Driver test of the Veyron had it reaching 60mph in 119 feet. Your Sledgehammer reached 60mph in 120.25 feet on the 9.7 quarter mile run.
