jnixon is infamous around these parts
When I had the 690 GIAC race tune on my 997 turbo all I could muster was 126mph. After I reach the end of the quarter I let off of the throttle.

I would l really love to race those tuned Porsche's, too bad we don't have any of them on the island, except one tuned 997TT don't by Evo MS (don't know which package tho) & he doesn't wanna race me how Booooooring.....

But 550 hp isn't enough, unless it's whp hp, at sea level. Obviously ruf doesn't measure it's hp ratings on race gas,
I believe that when they test there car's back in Germany, they have better fuel than us (Bahrain) our fuel here is around 93/94 octane. Comparing it to Germany, I think it Su***.

I run my car on VP MS103, I'm guessing that isn't race fuel.

I have no what so ever mod's on my car other than the RUF upgrade. In the future I'm planning on putting some more thing on the car. but not now, since my car is brand new.

I'm surprised myself too..... That the car doesn't boost more than that.

In that case I agree with Scott. Something isnt right. If there isnt a specific tune for the better gas, then you arent getting anything from it.

550 hp is not good enough for a 132 mph trap in a 3500+ (3700 with driver) car.

I'd give you 125-128 tops. And that's in great conditions here in the states. Still fast, but not 132 mph.

Anything with octane over 100 is race fuel to me...

That's what I thought too. But if he just slapped some 103 without a custom tune, he wouldnt get much from it at all.

the car has an aggressive tune on it, mainlyto run race fuel....the car also has GT2 setas that are lighter than the original seats....
about the boost maybe the boost gauge is stuck at 1bar, but car car sure feels like its boosting more.... i try and install a boost gauge to check the real boost.
anyways to end this discussion:
thats what the car ran, how, why, i dont know and dont care...... maybe its making more than 550 it sure feels like more than 550...
the rt12 IS 650HP not 700hp... and it weights more.....
ill run the car again with a good video this time and then we can post the video, both in car and out... since i am sure ill run faster.

BRN997, congrats for your results. Next week will pick my 997TT 550 at Ruf Germany. We can compare then. One question, I saw in youtube one Ruf like ours with blue flames on the exhaust, How about yours?

First you said it wasnt an aggressive tune for race gas, in fact you said you didnt think 103 was race gas. You dont run a race tune without the corresponding gas in it.

You are confusing me now. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you are making it hard. I do think the boost guage could be off, but still more unlikely that something amiss here.

The car is a legit very high 120's car like I said 128 and possbily a little more on our tracks, but it's 132 where you live so 132 it is. I'm not one to impose our clocks over anyone elses.

I have asked a few people about this and the awd porsches with 590-600 hp to the wheels will only trap 125-128. I ran my 690 race GIAc tuned 997 turbo with race gas and could only muster 125-126. The car supposedly produced 580-590 at the wheels. So if your car is in the 130s it is producing more power than what I have mentioned.

I don't believe it. Looks like you'll just have to fly the car here to the US to prove it. End of discussion.

Just kidding!

This is not true unless you are reffering to on specific track that has horrible altitude. It only take a little over 500 whp to trap 125+ in a 996 TT, and only slightly more than that in a 997 TT. 520 tops. Especially at 0 altitude.

690 hp to the wheels or crank should be easily over 130 mph, but conditions are a factor. 125-126 you should check the track conditions and if they arent horrible, either you arent driving properly or the car isnt making that power.

But I can assure you that 590-600 whp should be over 130 mph in decent conditions.
