Great pictures - Great car!
I opted for the Euro delivery 5 years ago. It included 3 days on track then allowed to tour for a few days more. I wish I had done more museums like you did. That looked great.
I couldn't get a Euro deliver with the order of my 997 TT Cab this time. The dates for my build/delivery were all booked and I was told the build dates for TT Cabs weren't easy (almost impossible) to schedule with Euro delivery with such short production runs. How long in advance did you book this? Was there any special procedure for this? I'm very jealous!

Just showed my girl your post and we thank you for sharing ... and bringing back great memories!

Regards,

Regards,
I had a deposit on the car for a few years. Initially I was waiting for a TT Cab with PDK. My dealer would ask me evry time he got an allottment, was I ready. When I learned about the change from the GT1 engine I decided to jump (by thw way this was confirmed by the tour guide who said, soon all flat 6's will be made in the main engine building). So in actuality, I booked it mid summer. Thanks for your comments.

Was really quite different from any trip I have taken in the past. Usually we head to one place, stay there for several days, and then move maybe 1 time. Car made us pack light, no room, so moving around was great fun.

Hard to take a photo of another car as you pass it at high speed, with camera in back seat. The sl shocked me. Why would someone pull a large trailer with an SL?? Never mind the 63.

My wife and I did the factory tour a few years ago. We awoke to breakfast and walked to front of the hotel to find a factory C4S Cab running and ready. There were thirteen cars in all. We followed a factory driver all day only to stop for lunch and tour stops. (the original Porsche Factory ...etc.). In the evening we arrived @ a new hotel to find our luggage waiting in our room. It was pretty cool to say the least!

The luggage thing would have been nice. My wife and I did a vintage tour in Va and WV last year, that went like that. Unfortunately, no such tour was available this time of year, so we were on our own. Would have been nicer if we could have left the wind blocker with Porsche as it took up a bunch of space, but in the end we managed. The car has a surprising amount of storage space.
