Nope, one on the autobahn, that was it. My "delivery guy" asked if I had any previous Porsche's. I said '95 928. He said great car, if you can afford to keep it in gas and oil!!!

Thanks for sharing how you got the TT Cab Euro delivery - I'm so in love with the PDK Tranny I may get on the list now for another TT Cab and put in placement for the Euro Delivery.
I lived in Sweden several months a year back in the 80's. You'd be AMAZED at what people put trailer hitches on, and how high they'll stack crap on their cars, one thing on top of the other like a Jenga game. I've seen a Ferrari's, SL's, Skoda's, Aston's, etc, all towing trailers, especially coming & going from the airport. I reluctantly admit to owning a Fiat X19 - AND - towing my motorcycle with it all the way to Amsterdam to save money on hiring a transport company.
(Don't know what's worse ... admitting I owned an X19 ... or that I towed with it?!?)
This thread is bringing back a lot of memories!

 

I'd love to do this when I'm ready to get a Porsche, thanks for the write-up. Just a quick question. Are there any restrictions regarding where in Europe you can take your car? (ie: England, Italy)

 

I was orginally going to wait for the PDK, but when it became clear that meant no GT1 engine, I decided to get the manual.

All EU was fine. didn't ask beyond that.

 

Car is now in port. Any idea how long i takes to clear customs and be shipped to a dealer 200 miles away?
