+1.............................

Cant wait until GM puts the ZR-1 tires on the Z06. Then it's curtains.

Wayne have you seen the video of Ron Fellows doing some test laps in the Z06 prior to Petite Lemans? They claimed 4 seconds 1:33-1:37 for the difference between the Goodyears and Michelins.

Of course we all know Ron could go faster than what he did in either configuration considering Reese *** went 1:36 prior to the repave in a stock Z06. But the fact remains that the Michelins would even the score in the tire department for the Z06.

For that matter I know a guy who ran a couple of speed GT races that went 1:34 in a stock GT3, and some others going 2:05's at VIR.

The more I talk about the GT3, the more I want one. I think I'm going that route eventually, but I'll wait until the new one comes out and the values drop a tad.

I love the Z06, but as long as they are putting new tires on it (which I think they will for '10) they should spend some time on the suspension and shocks. It is kind of twitchy at times.

I'm taking a couple of hours tomorrow to do some more Porsche shopping, would it be foolish not to drive a GT3 as long as one is sitting there available to be driven? I suppose it would be, even if its cold outside.

Hey Dez,

Johny O' is also a big fan of the Michelins.

He says the C6R is taking turn 1 @ R/A in 5th gear. Johny also said the cars LMP1, LMP2, and GT1 are exceeding the speed of the track.

In other words... the cars are too fast for Road Atlanta.

What is exceeding the speed of the track? Surely GT1 wont be anymore with the FIA slows the class down under the revised classes.

Petite isnt going anywhere regardless, so they'll just have to race in fast forward. Cant be any worse than Lime Rock.

So true. I was doing some reading on "Planet LeMans" a couple of days ago and it appears that ALMS is doing all sorts of things to slow the cars down. Pretty soon ALMS will be as much fun to watch as the DP series. They even said that Porsche might be considering a hybrid race car in a few years. Bleeeeccccch!

<instigator>With that precedence, get a 88 Mustang GT and LOTS of NOS! that's about 2 gazillion percent cheaper and probably faster. Dollar for dollar there is no comparison. </instigator>

Well there is that tranny issue in the GTR but still its one hell of car for the dollar. Ugly but fast.
