I think this is going to be the height of the market for the next year or so. Prices are heading south real fast.

Gentlemen this is reality. Dealers need money NOW, get whatever to cash-flow and stay in business. About prices, sad but true.

i agree-bring these cars in for trade, and you will get a surprise-but remember, these are 3 year old cars, and they made tons of 07 turbos-maybe 2000? remember, 996 turbos went south fast also, so these prices, though low, are not so low for turbos.

This actually crushes the new car sales . I can see holding on to ones car but what these numbers represent to me is that it makes no sense to pay 150K for an 09 .

Interestingly --the 997S is retaining value .

Anyone buying an 07 in the 80's will drive that car for free.

agreed on the 150k 997tt-but that has always been true-getting expensive options has always given a poor return on the dollar. the only reason to get carbon fiber this, and pccb brakes, and leather that is because you want it-you have to realize that you will lose most of that money for those options at resale. in 09, a turbo equipt with the necessary equipment only would cost about 135k-what is necessary? in my opinion, xm, universal adaptor, blue tooth and heated seats along of course with turbo sports chrono. as far a 997s retaining value, try trading it in. i think though that carrera s cars have always retained their values better than turbos though-996tt took a bath, and so will 997tt. the only thing that might help the 997tt is that porsche has made few 08 turbos and will make few 09 turbo coupes. but as far as a highly optioned 09 turbo, the only reason to get one is if you really are into the options and personally enjoy it, and are not concerned about the money. then it makes sense, as long as you don't think that you will do well on your investment. any turbo is a bad investment. i owned one in 07, sold it a year later and was stupid enough to buy another new 09 turbo-i am lucky enough to afford it and enjoy driving/having it-if i buy another, my wife will throw me out. yes, they are bad investments, but when you push on that accelerator........

Doc --the 993 Turbo bucked the Turbo trend . In 1998 when the 993 TT was out of production (until 2001 model year) I bought a 993 Turbo . It was the only used car I ever bought and I paid over MSRP to have it . It was flawless and I still miss that car.

Used 993 tt's (with low miles) are still selling high .

Lease returns for people who don't want it anymore or lost their jobs. They don't want them right now so dumping them is the best bet. Buy low sell High is the dealers motto at the moment. I know of one 2007 9K Blk/Blk bought for 85K and sold for $104 the next week. It was two weeks ago in Florida.

Posting Auction prices doesn't help the average consumer sell his/her car. It only perpetuates the low auction prices and it permeates to the consumer thinking they will get it for 85K.
