Does this ever happen to you?
I've seen a few Prius owners stepping on it too. I think it's the " I am in front of you and yet still earth friendly" assertive point . But here's the snag . Drive a Prius hard and it DOES burn gas . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXPCckjTMVg
I am willing to bet the 997 turbo will gain a higher MPG margin then E90 M3.
Type 1
I run across (no pun intended) Type 1 drivers a lot. They drive all sorts of cars and lot drive pick up trucks. They just have to pass you at high and then slow down to the speed you are going but just enough to keep ahead of you. I think it gives them that "special-power" feeling. I hope I look good in rear view mirrors
. Contrary to stereotypes, I find young guys much more relaxed and open to just exchange ideas about cars - and when you're 60+ it's a treat to have this kind of experience with younger true car enthusiasts.

You are correct . The 997tt is actually very fuel efficient compared to the M3 based on my driving style which remains constant with both cars .
Larry, I always appreciate your clever post ideas and you always generate lots of posts. I get all those same situations here in the west, even being a female behind the wheel. It's only when a handsome black turbo pulls up next to me that I feel compelled to have alittle fun
Yeah right
. Now I don't normally opt for juvenile driving but I think there's a certain playful side in even buying this car .

Being awoman in the Turbo probably confuses a few of the masses . To the Fred Flinstones of America it's almost defiant that a woman make such a statement of independence . They probably egg the challenge even more .
In short -if their ego has them flooring the SUV or truck alongside a dude I can only imagine what goes through their minds when a woman zips by .
Having a red Turbo I get it all the time.
Lately SUVs riding the left lane and when I go to pass them on the right they floor it to try and box me in. I now get over to the right in 4th gear and do what it takes to whizz by them.
Infinity G35 (sport coupe) owners have this aura that they can beat a TT and will start up with me. (no contest)
The new sporty Caddy with 400+ HP got to my left on the 70 mph Beachline recently and slowed down to egg me on since we had no one in front of us.
This Cadillac was fast, I down shifted and we both hit it and it was no contest but he didnt let off the gas for a long while. He then pulled in back of me and followed me til his exit.
So far (as opposed to my n/a 996) this TT is king of the road.

One thing good about the Porsche 911 coupe is that the blind spot is so minimal compared to most other cars . It was one of the first things I noticed years ago . The pronlem when getting into the lane is that they speed up or slow down too leaving the 997tt driver to make the choice of having to either sprint or slow down significantly to get in . You can guess what most end up doing but it actually presents a daily driving obstacle .
I like to find the type 1's when I'm on the interstates. I use them as rabbits to light up the radars down the road. Usually I can coax them up to comfortable 100 mph cruise speed.
I recall following a Suburban from Boise almost to the Oregon/Washington border (about 400 miles) at about 110 mph average. I thought sure he'd run out of gas, but no, he got a ticket instead. I don't think he ever figured out I was using him as an adjunct to my radar detector.

Yep all the time and all types. Recently I came on a REALLY nicely restored turbo, black circa 1970s. As I slowly passed him, I gave him a big thumbs up. He looked at me and seemed to sigh and gave me the "let's go sign". What he didn't know is that my escort 9500 ci had picked up a lurking chipie---so I tried to tell him no go--cop. So fortunately neither one of us did anything stupid.
I've had those high output caddilacs hit me up several times. Of course I lit them up, but I don't think they do it thinking they can beat a tt. They just want to see how their car compares to a tt.
I had a brief run in with a ZR1 the other day and I must say that is one fast ride. If my tt was stock I would have probably lost..
