Recall Notices

I just brought my car to the dealer and there are two recall notices W902 (air conditioning coolant level) and W904 (turbo related, not exactly sure). Are such notices posted somewhere on the Porsche website (couldn't find any) and does anyone know more about the turbo problem?

I believe the system is setup to catch you when you log in for service at the dealer. It's a minor issue, took an additional 15min when I had my 30k svc.

Indeed!! If your actuating rod in the adjustment mechanism is stuck or does not work properly then they will replace your turbos-not so minor. I imagine under salted road conditions this could be a problem.

Hi,

just had the VTG lubrication recall done yesterday. I saw the paperwork indicating it had been done so I asked for a copy but was refused that based on the fact it was done under warranty !!. i just like the idea of a comprehensive history of my car for when the time comes to sell it.

Rgds.

Refused? Sounds odd. They have to have paperwork to submit to Porsche to get paid. Porsche pays for it, not the dealer.

Hi,

the service advisor i saw is not very pro active, thus no copy of the paperwork.

Another example was the passenger widow occasionally sticking. First time i went back a different service advisor arranged for removal of the door panel, had a look/clean then on my way, no charge and wished me well. Told to return if any problems.

A few months later my car was in for service and the non pro active guy charged me for labour when i mentioned the sticky window had reappeared.

He said that was the procedure unless the part needed replacing under warranty. I am very tempted to insist on replacing the part if it occurs again !.

Rgds.

Sounds like you got a TOOL for an SA. Ask for a new one. Under warranty or not you are supposed to sign for the paperwork to acknowledge the work was done before they get paid on it. Otherwise they would just be handing in bills without signatures and collecting on work that wasn't completed or real. So no signature no go.
