changing Spark plugs....
Decided to DIY change my leaded gas killed plugs today.Have view the 996tt changing tips, removed bumper, intercooler and heatsheld.Changed the first one from right without problem, then the middle one I can't take the coil out due the turbo oil hoses stoped it.The third one also been covered by the turbo inlet hose..
Do I have to remove all the exhaust and turbos to change just the plugs? My previous change was done by turbos/exhaust off for upgrade in thr workshop so I really have no idea..
If you have to remove all of those to change plugs thats very sux..

I finally can't made it
Bought to the workshop and they removed the turbo oil sumps and hoses then get it done.Tooks about 4 hours. Not a DIY job through..Better not do it yourself.

Ya..Not a DIY at all.Looks easy after bumper and intercoolers removed then you got traped really bad.Took me a bloody whole night with couple of hands cut still can't take the middle one and left one out!!Don't wanne think about that day anymore!!Nightmare!!
Yup it's hard and a lot longer than 4 hours too! Funny thing is Porsche just copied that info from the previous 996TT manual where it says 4.4 hours.. I know that the time will be updated as soon as a dealership does it for the first time and complains;P A couple of dealerships here have quoted people about 10 hours.... This is because the turbos basically come off...

Hey Chris, hope you got my PM from the other place
But no the engine does not need to come out. I already looked at the dealer's manual to see what their 4.4 hours entailed... I can tell you it's going to be longer than that because of the lines etc.. that need to be removed but engine in please

We're always around if you need help etc.... It's not fun I can promise but what can you do? I can tell you Porsche will update the manual as soon as the first dealership cry's foul about the 4.4 hours taking more like 10 lol....
