Iphone / Sirius Users
Iphone / Sirius Users
Hey all... I had a quick question to Iphone users. Since the Iphone also acts as an Ipod, can you simply use an FM modulator to connect to the head unit? I assume yes?
The reason I ask... There is a new Iphone application that is about to launch that will stream Sirius directly to the iphone. The application has been beta tested and is getting glowing reviews... Once this application is available to the public, is it safe to assume that you could just use the Iphone to receive Sirius sattelite in the car?
I know that FM modulators do not produce great sound, however, I only listen to Sirius for the Stern show and sound quality is not important to me. As long as I get my daily fix of Bigfoot, Beetlejuice and prank phone calls, I am good to go. .
Will this work as anticipated?
Bob Abooey!

When you first connect the phone it will tell you that the device is not supported and you should switch to airplane mode. Ignore it and tap no. Play the ipod iphone as you would normally. Fits nicely hanging out of the ash tray. When you get a call the music will stop and the phone will ring via the car speakers. Answer the phone – it will not broadcast over the car speakers.

I don't think bankruptcy will be an issue. I think its a game of cat and mouse between Sirius and Echostar. With 20m subscribers and an improving balance sheet with tons of upside, it is extremely unlikely that Sirius will cease operations.
