Urgent Does anyone know this Car
Thank you.
Hi All,
First post here as I heard this news this morning and searched Google to find a forum that may be able to help. My connection to this is that I knew one of the victims very well. Craig was a neighbour in our small village (approx 200 residents) in the UK. Perhaps, more surprisingly, until fairly recently he was a Porsche owner too, I think he had a 996(maybe 997) Carrera 4S Cab, I think Craig sold the Porsche as they were expecting their second child (born a few weeks ago). Craig was a real car enthusiast and had a collection of interesting cars, including an old MG TF that I think he and his dad restored.
Craig and I would talk about cars a lot, as I have a Lotus Elise and an old Lotus Elan Plus 2, in fact we lent each other tools and a hand when needed, in a small village people help each other out, in this and many, many other respects, Craig was a top bloke.
Now that I'm posting here, in a slightly tearful state of shock, I'm not sure what this can achieve, other than possibly bringing a closer connection to this story than readers may have first imagined. It's difficult to seperate one's emotions about this from the reality of the situation, so many times you read about people killed in hit & run accidents, or even, let's face it car accidents and the consequences seem so distant and personally inconsequential.
If anyone can help bring some justice into this situation, I'd really appreciate it.
If I'm honest though, I know that nothing I, or anyone can say or do will make Claire, Charlotte and Olivia's loss any less painful or traumatic for many years to come.
I'm not here to preach about the dangers of inappropriate speed, I know I regularly break the speed limit, enjoy spirited drives around countryside, but I'm pretty good about urban areas and keep my 'race' thoughts for trackdays, maybe that's how you get when you're 45, I wasn't that good when I was 18, but thankfully haven't had to live with the emotional consequences of killing someone in an accident.
I hope this post brings this story and its consequences a little closer to your hearts, I know my drives for some time to come will have a new poignance as I remember Craig and probably smile and wave to his wife and young family.
Take care all, drive safely.

I heard the story on local radio on my drive to work this morning, thought nothing of it at the time as the report was 'local Banbury man, killed in Florida', then had a call from my wife earlier to say it was Craig. Deeply shocking.
This is shocking... posted on Pistonheads at the moment... really sad news
Pastachio - I'm sure I speak for everybody here on 6speed in expressing our sympathy to you and Craig's family. It brings it even closer to home when names are put to his kids and wife.
even though,it`s "only" the internet, but there are real people behind the stories and my condolences go to you and the families of the two men!
hope things get clarified soon and the two men can rest in peace
