Buying my first exotic. need some suggestions

Been thinking about the gallardo spyder, murci, F430 or R8

Have not driven any of these yet, but Im leaning towards the gallardo or the F430. I dont want to spend over $150k.

Anyone have any of these cars? How are they compared with each other?

Reliability? for 150k, it looks like there will be some miles on these cars, how reliable is the F430? or Murci?

Thanks in advance.

Um...what? Don't you think you're asking this question in the wrong section?

On a side note, I've driven all three and the R8 is the most usable of the three, the Gallardo the least and the F430 the most usable and exotic.

If Im in the wrong, please forgive me.

when is the new F450 coming out? I dont want to get an old model then half an year later, its dated.

The only reason why Im considering a gallardo is because spyder falls in the price range and they are awd, as its very stable in the snow.

I wont consider the v10 R8 because it will be well over 200k, although I was considering Lp560 until the dealer told me I cant get it for less than 200k.

Im really worried about reliability even though I will pay attention to maintenance. For 150k both Murci and F430 will have more than 10,000 miles on them.

I think for 150k you will get a better(newer) F430 then you will get a Murcielago. The best Murci right now is the LP640 and I don't believe they are at 150k. Go with the F430, just my .02

you leave a lot up in the air. How much will you be driving it? Where in the "North east" do you live (aka can you drive year round)? Is this just going to be a Sunday driver, or do you want to track it? All three are awesome cars in their own way. I'd test them all and decide after that.

TCM is infamous around these parts
If you plan to put over 10k a year on it, I would lean much more towards the Audi R8, F430 route. The Murci is great but requires interval checkups on a regular basis that do not come cheap. It is also far and away the hardest to use as a daily driver since you really cant see much of anything behind you. I would personally grab the F430. You do not want to be driving any of these cars in the snow. Even with the AWD on the Lambos, they will not make a good winter vehilces. Hope this helps.

If you have never driven the Lambo that explains why it's still on your list They are the most uncomfortable cars made IMO.
The Audi is an Audi, nothing will ever change that and you can drive it forever and probably forget to change the oil.
The Ferrari F430 is dependable, and if you can drive a 6-spd, the less desirable of the trannies then you'll save thousands. Just so you know what you are looking at, any F car with more then 1k miles per year is considered high mileage and you'll have some leverage for discounts in this market.
Regardless of the above, I can not stress how important it is to buy a used Exotic from a reputable seller. There are few and in this market all dealers are hurting. Do your homework.
If it was me, I would buy a 550M, those cars have taken the hit, need little maintenance and with a little exhaust work they are beasts. If you want something that will never depreciate go find a 360 CS. There are ways to invest in Exotics, but the cars you mention will be boat anchors in 3-5 years.

If I had the money, R8 would be my choice. I drove one on the track at Fontana and couldn't get the smile off my face for at least a week.

Your first should always be a prancing horse!
After you've owned that you can try other exotics.
