Ah, wow...TechArt took the time to do that and then tacked on about $700+ on top of the taillight cost too.

Apologies in advance as this question is somewhat off topic but related to this thread. I am getting ready to install an 08 Turbo front bumper onto my 997.1 C2. There has been a lot of talk in this thread about the control units that are needed to get the rear LEDs working. My question is, in order for me to get the LED blinkers from the Turbo bumper working, will I also need to buy one of these control units or is there something else I can do; i.e., use resistors, new blinker relay, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Stan

Do the sum: oem tail lights + control units + piwis coding + wasted time. How much difference will it be in the end to the plug and play trouble free techart tail lights?

$2600 for the taillights. For a Turbo, it's already ready to go so no control units needed, just move a few wires around plus reprogram things with the PIWIS, so that'd be a $1800 mark-up. If it was $1500 then that'd be much more reasonably priced.

Now i got confused. Are you saying that for a 997.1 Turbo there is no need to buy front and rear control units... Are you sure?

So i guess that from your post #108 that it only need: "to swap the No 14 to 34 and 6 to 21 in the front control unit(black) connector. But for those who were getting tail light warnings and the instrument cluster was flashing too fast you will need to swap pin No 11 to 36, and pin 42 to 31. You will also need to code the front and rears to accept LED's."

I got that information from here: LED taillight upgrade

I'll be trying it myself soon.

How about the front parking lights or turning lights? I noticed that the 997.2 has the Daytime running lights on just like the new Audis and Menz. Can this be done on our 997.1?

I have the same problem. Today i was at Porsche service on PIWIS codding and all lights are working fine except turn signals.

Will PIN swaps on front black connector help to stop showing warrning message on dashboard ? Or even after chaning pins in front bug interface, i have to do PIWIS again ?

Thanks in advance.
