It had to happen
Thanks Elow - I looked at the scrape, ate my overcooked dinner , and decided to stay home and let it just sink in and look forward to tomorrow in the hopes that it wil be a better day.
It will be a great day tomorrow!!!! Don't trip.....I used to wig out like a mof0h on stuff like this. Just don't look at it......go for a drive and live what a evt700 is all about!
Techart Lip
Just wear and tear. I scraped mine until it got to the point it was driving me crazy. When I can could see it from the top then I get repainted. 2x now. I am pretty careful. 2 years is amazing. I didnt last 2 weeks.

I have the same lip on mine and made it about 6 months and then last week the wifey wanted to stop at Sonic and get a drink and as **** as I am still I mis-calculated and looked at the wife and said your drink just cost me a couple hundred dollars. The drive home wasn't real pleasant. Mine is white so it doesn't show up quite as much as yours but it still pains me. In the end all you can do is get it fixed and it will happen again. Oh well.
This sucks. I know it will bother you. But at least you have some friends who know where you are coming from and can commiserate with you over the whole thing. Venting and feelin' da love makes one feel a bit better.
Newbie --with the Turbo we all share the same lip issue . Despite different options/ transmissions, colors . wheels, mods --that lip scrape is a common thread which bonds all 997tt owners into a club of sorts .
I have a stock painted lip and it's starting to look worse for wear. I just use sandpaper to clean off the rough bits then use a Porsche paint touch up pencil (paint stick about $10 from your OPC) to go over the parts exposed. You really can't notice the difference unless you look really closely.
Larry,
LOL 2 years is amazing; mine was scraped leaving the paint shop
. Yes it was traumatic
but I'm over it within 2-3 weeks.
eclou,
$75!? With prep, paint, & clear coat, I paid something like 300.
