We have been testing our EVOMSit software calibration for the 997TT Tiptronic Control Unit (TCU) We have been testing our software in one of our EVT700 Tip cars with great results. We increased the TCU rev limiters to match the raised rev limiters in the ECU. Our current setup is now shifting at 7000 RPMS which is 250 RPMS higher than stock. We also made the shifting quicker and increased the TQ limits to maximize acceleration and power delivery. Once we have finished the final testing in the next week or so, we will release this upgrade to the public. More details to follow shortly.

 

Now that is something i was eagerly waiting for. Congrats on the new stuff EVOMS. Can't wait for the product to be available.

Does this TCU upgrade make the transmission any "smarter"? The last time I drove one around the track, I some difficulty picking and staying in certain gears when the computer thought it knew better.

Talked to Todd about it a couple of weeks ago guys and for those of you into drag racing 1/4mile stuff it's already proven to have made a significant difference at the track:P!

 

I talked to Todd a couple of days ago regarding my ECU. He is tweaking the tune for me a bit. All I can tell you is that this guy really knows his stuff and the products they produce are world class. EVOMS is truly a badass tuner. All of you tip owners, this is a no brainer in my book.

 

That is a tremendous breakthrough for any tip owner wanting the most out of his car.Great work guys!

Does the TCU tweak hold the gear longer, blip the throttle more forcefully, etc.??? Different shift maps in normal and sport? Or just for sport mode? The enquiring mind wants to know. And don't make me drive all the way over to Az to find out.

 

How about making the car start off in first gear ALL the time

 

Sorry guys, been away from the forum for a few days. Thank you for the input and interest. Regarding a TCU upgrade for the 996TT, I am working on it. I hope to be testing something in the next few weeks. I will be sure to make an announcement as soon as the software starts to take shape.

Regarding the 997TT TCU, all of the information that you guys have provided is great. All of them are 100% possible but it will take some time to figure it all out and get it properly tested. Initially, I thought the major problem was not being able to increase the rev limit to maximize the peak power and match the engine limiter, thus the reason I started the process. From the added information you guys have provided, the "ideal" TCU upgrade would offer the following:

• Increased rev limit to 7000 RPMS (Completed)
• Increase the TQ limits (completed)
• Improve upshifting time (completed)
• Improve downshifting time
• Hold the gear longer
• Start off in 1st gear

Any other input before I take another crack at it? Let me know because I will try and make it the way you guys want it. All of the listed criteria can be integrated as a complete package or individually depending on what each enthusiast wants. Any and all input is much appreciated. Thanks! - Todd
