Maybe raspy isn't the right description. Angry hornets? Even angrier sounding than stock. lol Now that I think of it, I had the window open and there was a concrete barrier so the sound was being reflected back.

I consciously drove a bit more aggressively today and must say that it felt great. A few things to consider:

1. even cooler today, in the high 50s to low 60s. A/C turned off.
2. fresh tank of gas, drove the previous tank to nearly empty. Perhaps the batch of gas I had wasn't perfect.
3. varied the speed and drove much more aggressively and kept it in sport mode. Perhaps recently I'd just gotten up to speed on the highway and stayed there with just a few bursts. And mainly in non-sport mode.

I'm still planning on checking the hoses, exhaust and datalogging but am more convinced now that there is nothing or very little wrong. If the datalogging and everything comes back clear then the message will be clear - BIGGER TURBOS! lol, for the few times I can get to appreciate more power it's hard to say it would be worth the money but you could use that same argument when buying the car in the first place. There's no doubt in my mind that I love this car and will keep it for years. For just a few more bucks I can get the super duper vtg upgrade, i/c etc... (I'm practicing my rationalizations for when I tell my wife this. Or maybe I'll just upgrade and then accept any consequences after the fact).

When it comes to mods and spouses, forgiveness is always easier to get than permission! I try to stealth mod as much as possible.

Go for it, you will be 100% thoroughly pleased with the upgrade.

I'm sure of it. Are you using a catless or cat exhaust? Which clutch upgrade did you do?

I've have both the FVD 200 cell cats and cat bypass pipes. On the FVD system, the catless is not obnoxious at all. If fact, under normal driving conditions it sounds "normal" (for lack of a better term), slightly louder than 200 cell but deeper with more body. At WOT, it's just awesome. Again, not obnoxious, just awesome. It's nothing like straight pipes which is totally and unacceptably obnoxious on the street. As for clutch, I believe it's the Sachs with 764 pressure plate combo that AWE and various people sell. Not totally sure since I went through my installer and he has his own "proprietary" build. He said it would hold the power and so far so good. It feels just like stock, same engagement point, same mushy feel, but at least you know what you're getting with that combo.

Check the boost line to the FPR is connected.
If not can cause laziness in power boot will be normal.
FPR raises fuel pressure by 1psi for every 1psi in boost, if hose is not hooked up fuel pressure
stays static.

Yes, will do when I get home. I saw that thread and thought that it would be worth checking while I'm under the car checking out other hoses/lines.
