100 octane

Any thoughts on 100 octane. I have been told the blue or purple, 112 and 115, contain 3.75 grams of lead per gallon and this can damage the O2 sensor and cats. Avaition grade contains less lead per gallon. Would this also cause problems? In regards to 93 octane does anyone have a brand preference.

I use 100 octane available at 2 service stations here in Scottsdale, AZ. I have a GT2 and GT3, they both like the hight octane. Very expensive, but I only run it occasionally.

Unless you are running a cat-less exhaust, you need to use unleaded high octane fuel, typically 100 octane unleaded. Leaded fuel will ruin your cats and they are expensive.

Stick with unleaded if you have cats. MS109 is one of the best choices for high octane unleaded.

Will you really gain anything with a stock ECU? I know for my 997S, I had to have the ECU (GIAC, the piggyback with the SC) remapped to get the benefits of higher octane gas.....

I just wish there was an easy way to find race gas. Seems no one near Chicago sells it anymore.

I think its Sunol Gas Station, its the only gas station there, cant miss it. They also pump leaded 100+ Octane so make sure you are at the right pump for the unleaded.

Leaded fuel will be ok for a TUbi Race exhuast(Cat-less). But would the O2's be damaged?
