Dan, thanks for the generous offer, but I just want to try something "established" and don't really want to be "the first," or among the first at this time!
The car ONLY slips when I try to emulate what's done with the dyno: Stomp on the gas at 2000 rpm. At any other time, it's fine. So if everyone scares me too much about the clutch, I am just not going to do anything.

Mike/AWE, yes if I wasn't to get a satisfactory decision from everyone's posts, my next step is to email the tuners. So yes, I have been to your (and Dan's) web site reading about the clutch many times and yes, I will PM you when I get back from vacation.
The car is finally at a very sweet spot for me - the perfect daily driver & I love the darn thing, so my main interest is keep it as is.

So far the only person who says his replacement clutch feels like stock is Doug (TT Gasman), who has what sounds like the basic Sachs Stage 2 clutch with stock flywheel. Question for you please: is this the secret to keep the replacement clutch stock like? No LWFW and Sachs Stage 2?

Thanks in advance Mike. I think these posts will be of help to many others as well.

Some more data points for anyone interested in this topic. BTW, from my reading so far, the problem seems not to be of pedal effort, but what sounds like a very tricky engagement point, that's either on or off. Many seem to complain that the tricky engagement point makes the car difficult to use as a daily driver.

1. From eclou:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ng-clutch.html
A racing (puck) clutch will chatter and jerk when you try to make slow manuevers like in a parking lot since it is "on" or "off". The upgrade path for stock drivability and feel:
stage 2 - Sachs pressure plate xxxxx752 and organic clutch disc xxxxxx973
700 kit or higher - Sachs pressure plate xxxxx764 and organic clutch disc xxxxx973<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

If anyone could explain what an "organic" clutch (produced without hormone?), I would appreciate it. (Or I'll email Mike at AWE and report it later.)

2. For those new to this. The youtube link is pretty neat:

Like Gene said, the Sachs xxx752 PP and disc is what you want. Yes, it will occassionally chatter on low speed stuff, but it's a non issue. Otherwise it drives exactly as stock , just a tad stiffer.

LOL - Jay, it sounds like you and I may be in the same boat now or soon! I am still on the original clutch AFAIK and have felt a little slip once or twice when very hot. About 41K mi now. (Next though my 914 is coming apart for some fairly major overhaul, plus I kinda need a new daily driver for the school year coming up...)

Hey did we just meet at Rusnak on Saturday?
EP-2 club??

I plan to go back to stage 1 or or not use sports mode in stage 2 need to play around with it a bit more. loving the EuroPipe and tune.
I have a MaxJax lift and a crapload of tools if you want to give this go let me know, I'm hoping I don't fry my stock clutch this year.

My next step was to reach out to Kevin for a kit.
