PDK Steering Wheel with Paddles?

Sounds like a good upgrade for PDK and Tiptronic owners!

And what's up with this? What's that little strip on top of the wheel? Shift indicator?

I'm sure it's related to the Sport Chrono, if you zoom into the photo it says "Sport Plus" on the little display. I'm working on the steering wheel, I already ordered one which is listed as a 2010 PDK steering wheel, I'll keep you posted.

But...the indicator is available with the button shifter steering and not with the new paddle shifter. Why? Why don't I have this indicator with my new 997.2+sports chrono+pdk. How can porsche make such a sudden change on an existing system after launching the facelift? Unless this is only offered with the turbo??

If my tiptronic can handle the new paddle steering wheel I'd order it for sure.

The current PDK steering wheel will work in the Tiptronic cars, we're hoping the new paddle PDK shifter will work the same. We're trying to get them, I think I have the correct part ordered already. I'll keep you posted, and add them to our site when we verify fitment.

Any update as to whether the paddle PDK steering wheel can work in 997.1 Tip cars?

Paul: Just sent you an email, we can get the newer style with multifunction, but we don't have a padded version yet.

Apparently TechArt has a conversion that adds paddles to the PDK equipped vehicles and if I recall correctly it's priced around $690.00.

Definitely worth checking out........

im pretty sure the indicator has to do with sport chrono. I think it indicates the overboost feature and the other features when they're on. The paddles and that new wheel look fantastic!

The link is to the PDK wheel with sliders, but I much prefer the wheel with paddles. If and when that becomes available, can the steering wheel be ordered w/o the air bad and the existing air bag in the 997.1 wheel be reused?

The first generation airbag won't fit the newer steering wheels.
