2nd round of lighting mods: fogs

Ok, grab a beer (or two) for this mod, wont take that long. Special thanks to bbywu for the heads up on what to look for during this install.

I went with the Hoen endurance (yellow). The pics dont do them justice, I rarely use the fogs but when I do I want ones that actually work in fog or rain.

www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm

If you want to match your HID lights go with the xenonmatch.

Tools needed: none, but thin flathead comes in handy to remove connector if its a bit dirty.

1. Lift the car, I used a jack and stands. Whatever you do make sure its SAFE AND SECURE. You want to get enough clearance in the front to get under the car easy enough with some movement for your arms.

2. Look for the tubular device, it stores the H3 fog light bulb and mechanism.

3. Unplug the connector leading to this device.

4. Twist (counter clockwise) a few degrees the bulb housing (tubular), then pull down to gain access to the bulb mechanism.

5. disconnect wiring to remove mechanism (turn left a few degrees and pull down to remove the mechanism, much like the tubular housing)

6. remove factory bulb and replace with aftermarket bulb

7. reverse process to re-install

Reinstalling the mechanism is tricky, there are 3 tabs, make sure they align correctly to make the job much easier. The smaller your hands are the easier this mod will be as the working space is quite tight.

I took some but at night the added time to take the pic with the shutter made them all blurry! I need a tripod bad. Will get some good ones posted asap.

Have not gotten around to take some new ones, but here is one of the least worst shaky ones!

They are much more yellow in person than this pic shows, I definately recommend them over the white ones as its impossible to get the low beam, fogs and LEDs matching.

Thanks for the detailed write-up and supporting pics, G-Money! The fog lights will complement my newly installed Hoen turn signal xenons. Thanks for making it an easy decision!
