Is this a good deal ?

Hi Everyone,

New to the forum.

Considering this one : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...=p4506.c0.m245

Or ordering a 2010 GT3

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Mel

There's knocking off about 15 percent on a car that has a ton of options . I am not sure how they reach the 186K and would have to see the specfic breakdown . The base car itself is not heavily optioned . I looked hard to see if it has axle lock . It doesn't . Not that it ought to be a dealbreaker . I do think the price is fair.

Do you love a full Techart car ? Every aftermarket item is Techart . I even wonder if the axle lock is Techart. It's a very personal choice.

The Gt3 is a completely different type of car . I see many posts of (paraphrasing) "do I get a Turbo or a Gt3" and I don't know how one places thse both in the same decision .

Reading a post like yours leaves me guessing . It's so easy to look at all thse beautiful cars and simply pick one and hope it's fun but I really believe that if you place thought into every detail of what you want out of this car you will arrive at the answer .

worth looking into if you're a true TechArt fan. I wonder if this car was fixed up by TA themselves or by a local shop? In any case, I think the car looks great.

The 997TT is a different car vs the '10 GT3. If you plan on doing a lot of tracking, then perhaps the GT3 would be a wiser option. If you are more of street driver with some spurts of aggression, then you'll like the TT. The TT is a bit softer in ride vs the GT3.

Caveat: One could argue that you can mod the TT to make it a solid track car.

I saw and heard this car at the dealership - wonderful car. To me - modification difference between this car and the ebay car are show & go. The TechArt car is all about appearance options and this car is mostly about performance options which I think is a much better way to spend $$.

Depends if you are into the looks. This car is surely only for the looks. I would never spend $45000 just for some plastic parts. But if you like Techart and like turning heads .......

Cool, thanks for the car compliments.

Agreed. And my approach was invest in high quality performance mods, and save in appearance mods, which is why I went with an NR Auto GT2 style wing versus the GT2 OEM. Unfinsihed, looking at ~$2K versus $8K. I had my car parked next to a GT2 at the dealership and the wings look identical.

GL and have fun w/ your car hunting.

Agreed!
I, for instance, would not spend $5.00 for this plastic kit. $40K got me all the options i have on my TT and it is a great car (wheels + tires, suspension Moton + camber plates and springs +sway bars and drop links, exhaust, EVT 700 parts and ECU flash "VTG's BRV's IC's Hoses Clamps" BMC Air Filter, corner balance alignment, installation of all parts...) there are much better deals out there plus, you are getting close to GT2 territory here... so in my opinion, it is not a good deal.
