Hello,
I am new here and thinking about possibly getting a used 997TT. Any suggestions about what not to buy or where to look?
Thank you
Eric

Wecome to the forum!!
I can tell you for sure that this is a great place to learn about these cars.
Interesting name I almost called you HO
All kidding aside, I would watch mileage and what modifications the car has on it. I would much rather own one with no mods and start myself. Good luck!!

Welcome
yes, welcome! I agree 100% with KA 997TT. You'll learn a TON on this forum and I've always preferred to buy a stock unit and mod it myself (if you're going to mod it at all). I was looking at some leftover 2008 turbos, but the dealers really wouldn't make me an offer that made sense!! Ended up buying an '09 Turbo for 15% off MSRP (which was a "better than average" deal) in my opinion. Enjoy this forum, and again welcome!

How much did the warranty cost extra? I do want to add mods but not sure where to turn at this point. First things first, I need a car
i was offered w/ and w/o cpo...cpo was 2g extra, well worth it IMO

For me, if I were to do it over again, I'd find a used car, already modded as close to my liking as possible. I'd make sure it had a thorough inspection and that I felt comfortable with how the owner(s) treated it. I'd also try to get it CPO'd w/ the mods included--some will do that, but not all dealers--but worth a try.
With that said, I had a hell of a lot of fun modding my turbo from stock.

I am a 6 speed kind of guy. Tip or PDK are not very attractive to me. Changing a clutch or shifting through the gears is pleasure all on it's own.
cpo sounds very good with the current market prices.
