997tt tune vs gt2?

I currently have the tubi street 200 cell exhaust with a tune from http://www.dkr-tuning.de/web/en. Was wondering if a 997tt with a tune and exhaust should be faster than a stock gt2. Had a buddy with me and raced a gt2, gt2 was about a car ahead till 170km then he startet to pull away after that. I understand the gt2 is about 100kg lighter, but the extra torque from the tune should at least compensate the weight difference. Am I expecting too much or is this about right?

exhaust and ecu flash should take you to approx. 580HP. You should be able to keep up well with a GT2 which is lighter by 300lbs and at 530hp. The GT2 will pull away at the higher speeds.

I raced a GT2, a 599 and some rice box Evo. We all had the fortune of getting on the highway at the same time. The 599 got eaten and I had a few car lengths on the GT2, at about 120-130 the GT2 started to catch me, but I still had the lead. I don't remember what happened to the EVO.
I was surprised how slow the 599 was and so was the owner

A tuned 997TT with exhaust should run to 300 kph in about 31-34 seconds in a manual. A GT2 should reach 300 in about 33-36 seconds.

Drivers race, with GT2 likely benefiting from low weight, but greater drag due to its large wing.

if you bump up to 650-700hp package, no problem with GT2 all day with a "drag" race; track times different story. i'm at 615hp with full tubi exhaust, BMC, BRVs, and GIAC tune, got dusted by ZR1, not even close! gonna get AWE 700 in the spring; look out ZR1!

Hmm...this is a 630 tuned Evotech 997 against the ZR1. If you were at 615, I would have thought you would be closer.

JS1967 is infamous around these parts
I have headers, tubi, I/C and GIAC 91 oct flash the car dyno'd at 530 awhp. I raced a new ZR1 from about 30 mph. I got the jump on him and was ahead by a car length at the beginning. We raced well into fourth gear...he stayed with me and then caught me and if we kept going I think he would have pulled on me a little. I was happy he did not smoke me...and in my mind we were a pretty even match. Nice guy by the way, not all vette guys are so friendly.

On another note, I have run my Race 100 octane program a few times. All I can say is Holy Sh%t. Wish I was running the race program when I met up with the ZR1. I would have left him in the dust.

ZR1s dusted ferrari, lambo, and porsche in Motor Trend's all out test; not even close (YouTube). ZR1 ran the 1/4 mi in 11.0-11.2s; but i have seen (YouTube) 630hp tt run the 1/4 mi in 10.8s! i don't get it; modded tt should be able to take ZR1, NO PROBLEM?
